Inviting a teammate
Your agency or colleagues can see the same sites with their own Google accounts.
Steps
- 1
Open the "Team" page from the menu.
- 2
Enter their e-mail, choose a role (Admin or Member) and click "Invite".
- 3
They get an e-mail; if not, share the link shown on screen yourself.
- 4
They click the link and sign in with the Google account of the same e-mail to join.
Tip: If you belong to several accounts, switch between them with the account selector in the top bar.
Why it matters
You never have to share a password with someone you work with: your agency, partner or employee signs in as themselves, sees the same sites and works through the To do list with you. A role decides who can change what, and billing and team settings stay with owners and admins. Data belongs to the account, so a teammate does not need separate Search Console access. When someone leaves, you remove them in one click.
If you get stuck
If an invitation did not arrive, check the spam folder first, then send the link shown on screen yourself. The link is valid for 14 days and works once. The person can only join by signing in with the e-mail address you invited; if you mistyped it, press "Revoke" under Pending invitations and invite the right address. If you hit the daily invitation limit (an address gets at most 3 a day), try again tomorrow.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the difference between Member, Admin and Owner?
- A member reviews the sites and works on the To do list but cannot touch billing or team settings. An admin can also send invitations, manage members and pay. An owner can change everything, and an account must always keep at least one owner. An admin manages members only, not the owner or another admin.
- What happens if I forward the invitation link to someone else?
- The link only works for the invited e-mail address. Someone else who opens it and signs in with their own account is told the invitation is for another address and cannot join. The link works once and lasts 14 days; if it went to the wrong person, revoke it under Pending invitations and invite the right address.
- How do I remove someone or change their role?
- On the Team page, find the person under Members and click "Remove", or change the role with "Make admin" or "Make member". Someone you remove can no longer reach this account's sites, and their own account is untouched. The last owner cannot be removed; make someone else an owner first.
- I already have my own account. What happens to my sites if I join another team?
- Your own account stays exactly as it is. The team you join is added as a separate workspace: its sites, plan and billing never mix with yours, and you switch between the two from the top menu. When you join, you get the role the person who invited you chose.
