Installing the WordPress plugin

Why it matters

Without the plugin you have to open WordPress and change every suggestion by hand. With it, the changes you approve (the title and description shown on Google, hiding a page from Google, a permanent redirect) are applied to the site in one click. It writes into Yoast SEO, Rank Math or WordPress's own fields, and a change can be rolled back if it went wrong. The plugin only applies jobs you approved. Automatic apply is part of the Agency plan.

If you get stuck

If the connection test fails, read the message on the card. "Plugin not found" means the plugin is not installed and active, or a security plugin is blocking REST requests. "Different key" means the key in the plugin does not match the card; paste it again without spaces at either end. "Could not reach the site" points to the site being down or a firewall blocking it. After renewing the key, update the plugin too.

What does the plugin change on my site?

It only applies suggestions you approved: the title and description shown on Google, hiding a page from Google (noindex) and permanent (301) redirects. Nothing changes on its own. Every applied change is recorded, and you can undo it with "restore the previous state" if you want.

Can I use SEOLOK without the plugin?

Yes, the plugin is optional. You can copy the text of a suggestion and change it in WordPress yourself, and rankings, alerts and reports work independently of it. The plugin just cuts the apply step to one click; it is also used to collect notification subscribers during Boost.

I use Yoast SEO or Rank Math. Will they clash?

No. The plugin writes the title and description into the fields of the SEO plugin you already use (Yoast SEO or Rank Math), or into WordPress's own fields if you have neither. So you see the change where you already manage your site, and the two tools do not overwrite each other.

Is the connection key safe, and who should see it?

Every request between your site and SEOLOK is signed with your connection key, so someone who does not know the key cannot send changes to your site. Do not share it. If you think it has leaked, press "Renew key" on the card and paste the new key into the plugin settings.
