Applying suggestions
How to apply the tasks in "What should you do now?": importance order, ready-made text, one-click WordPress apply and the effect on rankings.
Steps
- 1
Open "To-do" from the site menu; suggestions are sorted by importance.
- 2
Read why each one is suggested and what to do; title/description suggestions come with ready-made text.
- 3
With the WordPress plugin click "Apply to WP"; otherwise copy the text and change it on your site.
- 4
Mark it as "Applied"; you'll see the effect in your rankings within a few weeks.
Why it matters
The suggestions list turns "why is this site not moving up" into "do these few jobs today". Jobs are sorted by importance and every card says why and what to do. If you record a finished job with "Done", SEOLOK checks that the change really is on the page, and a few weeks later it shows a before and after comparison. You do not have to do everything on the same day; start with the ones at the top.
If you get stuck
If a card says "Waiting for text", the title or copy suggestion is still being prepared; texts are queued and are either prepared together at 06:00 or arrive within about an hour once sent. If "Apply to WP" does not show up, check that the plugin is connected and that your plan includes automatic apply. If verification misses your change after "Done", check it is live; a cache may serve the old page.
Frequently asked questions
- Which suggestion should I start with?
- Start with the "Look at these first" section at the top of the list. Jobs are sorted by importance and each one says why. You do not have to do them all; a good way in is to begin with something quick, like rewriting a title or description. The rest stay in the list for later.
- What happens when I press "Done"?
- SEOLOK stores it as a record: the date, the change and the page as it was at that moment. It then checks that the change really is on the site, whether that is a title, noindex, a redirect or internal links. Around day 18 the before and after comparison is ready; it makes no claim of cause and effect.
- What do I do with a suggestion I do not want or cannot do?
- Remove it with "Skip"; it stays under "Skipped" and can be brought back with "Back to suggestions". If you cannot touch the site yourself, "Send to my developer" e-mails the job with its steps, and your developer marks it done through a link that needs no sign-in.
- Is the estimated gain on the cards certain?
- No. "Estimated +… clicks / month" is a cautious calculation based on Google's typical click rates and the page's current position. It is not a guarantee. Google decides the ranking and nobody controls it; suggestions improve your chances but do not promise a result.
