Pick Ahrefs if you do SEO research (backlinks, keyword data, competitor study) and want rankings in the same account: its Lite plan is $129 a month for 750 tracked keywords, refreshed weekly. Pick SEOLOK if you mainly want to follow up to 1,000 of your own keywords, updated daily from $19 a month, with your Search Console data and a plain list of what to do next.

Which one to choose
Choose SEOLOK if
- You track up to a few hundred of your own keywords and want them checked every day: Tracker is $19 a month for 100, Pro $49 for 300.
- You would rather see a short, ranked list of what to fix, with the evidence, than study research tools.
- You look after several small sites and want your Search Console history kept past Google's 16 months, next to the rankings.
- You want to try a paid plan first: 14 days of Pro without a card.
Choose Ahrefs if
- You do SEO research: backlinks, keyword data and competitor study from a web-wide index are what you pay for, and tracking is a bonus.
- You track 2,000 to 5,000 keywords: Standard and Advanced work out at about 12.5 and 9 cents a keyword a month, against about 15 cents on SEOLOK's largest plan.
- You want AI-search tracking beside rankings: its plans list tracked AI prompts (5, 10 or 20) and Rank Tracker covers 19 SERP features, AI Overviews among them.
- You need API or MCP access to your data: both are listed on every Ahrefs plan, with row limits.
What Ahrefs is, and where Rank Tracker sits in it
Ahrefs sells one family of tools whose data comes from its own web crawler, which it describes as the second most active in the world. Its plans build on each other: Lite holds the core tools (Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Site Audit, Rank Tracker, a report builder and more), and Standard and Advanced add further tools and raise limits such as projects, tracked keywords and years of history.
Rank Tracker covers desktop and mobile in more than 190 locations and 19 SERP features, AI Overviews included. Its pricing table lists the update frequency as weekly on all plans, and the help-centre article on the subject, dated 3 September 2026, says the same: with all subscription plans the default update frequency of tracked keywords is weekly.
Where SEOLOK is different
SEOLOK measures your keywords every day on every paid plan and reads your Search Console and Analytics data beside them. With a weekly refresh, a change on Monday is visible the following week; with a daily one it is visible the next morning. From the same data SEOLOK builds a ranked list of jobs: the page that sits just off page one, the title that earns few clicks, two of your pages competing for the same search.
- Daily positions on every paid plan, the $19 Tracker plan included; Ahrefs lists weekly updates on all of its plans.
- A to-do list instead of a toolbox: each job comes with its evidence and an estimate, and when you mark it done SEOLOK checks the live page and later shows before and after.
- Your Search Console history stays with you: Google keeps 16 months, SEOLOK stores the days it imports.
- A free plan and a 14-day Pro trial with no card; Ahrefs says it never runs discounts and points website owners to its free account instead.
Where Ahrefs is stronger
Ahrefs is a research platform, and where the job is research it is the stronger choice:
- Data about the whole web. Backlink and keyword research come from Ahrefs' own crawler and database. SEOLOK has no such index and does not try to build one: it tracks the keywords you give it, shows the searches Google Search Console reports and audits your own site.
- Scale. Its main plans track 750, 2,000 and 5,000 keywords; SEOLOK's largest plan tracks 1,000.
- Breadth. Keywords Explorer, Site Explorer, Site Audit, a report builder, tracked AI prompts and API access come in one subscription.
- More measured. Rank Tracker lists 190+ locations and 19 SERP features including AI Overviews. SEOLOK measures Google positions; its own AI visibility feature is still being prepared.
What it costs for the same job
Prices are for monthly billing, as each company lists them on the day we checked. Ahrefs' pricing page says paying annually saves up to 17%; SEOLOK charges ten months for twelve.
| What you track | SEOLOK and Ahrefs |
|---|---|
| 50 keywords on one site | SEOLOK: the free plan covers 10 keywords weekly; Tracker, $19 a month, covers 100 daily. Ahrefs: the Starter plan, $29 a month, covers 50 keywords. |
| 300 keywords on up to 10 sites | SEOLOK: Pro, $49 a month. Ahrefs: Lite, $129 a month, covers 750 keywords. |
| 1,000 keywords on up to 30 sites | SEOLOK: Agency, $149 a month. Ahrefs: Standard, $249 a month, covers 2,000 keywords. |
| 5,000 keywords | SEOLOK: not covered, its largest plan stops at 1,000. Ahrefs: Advanced, $449 a month. |
Per keyword, Ahrefs gets cheaper as you grow: about 17 cents a month on Lite at full use ($129 for 750), 12.5 on Standard and 9 on Advanced. SEOLOK is about 19 cents on Tracker, 16 on Pro and 15 on Agency. So SEOLOK costs less in total up to 300 keywords; between 301 and 750 it needs Agency ($149), which costs more than Ahrefs Lite ($129); and Ahrefs costs less per keyword when you track thousands. The Ahrefs price also pays for its research tools.
How to decide in five minutes
- Name the job. If it is "follow my keywords and know what to fix", SEOLOK covers it. If it is "study other sites' links and keywords", that is research, and Ahrefs (or a similar tool) is where it belongs.
- Decide how fresh the data must be. If a week is fine, either works; if you want to see a drop the next morning, you need daily updates.
- Count the keywords. Up to 300, SEOLOK is far cheaper; from 301 to 750 the two are close ($149 for SEOLOK Agency against $129 for Ahrefs Lite); above 1,000, SEOLOK's plans stop and Ahrefs Standard or Advanced are the options.
- Try before paying: SEOLOK's free rank checker, free plan and 14-day Pro trial. Ahrefs lists no trial; its free account gives limited access to Site Explorer and Site Audit but not to Rank Tracker.
